All my roles do haunt me.
Diese Serie synthetisch Fotografien ergreift das Photo als Bühne der Selbstinszenierung und spürt den Rollen nach, die wir zwischen Geliebten, Familie, Beruf, Freundschaft und vor uns selbst performen. Die Reihe ist inspiriert von Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman und den Fotografie von Samuel Fosso.
Die stetig wiederkehrende Figur schlüpft in schräge Kostüme, traditionelle Tracht und Filmsettings oder alltägliche Selfieästhetik, um diese Masken nicht nur als Überlebensstrategien, sondern auch als Tore und Verbindungen zu erkunden. Welche Zuschreibungen sind in uns selbst verankert? Welche Erzählungen entstehen beim betrachten dieser Portraits.
Die Arbeit versteht sich dabei allerdings eher in seiner Reihenhaftigkeit und fragt: Sind wir die Summe unserer Rollen oder das, was Etwas, das alle Rollen verbindet? Wählen wir diese Kostüme des Selbst bewußt, oder werden wir von unseren Rollen unbewußt ereilt? Welchen Einfluss haben Rollen, die uns vorgelebt wurden?
Sie stellen zur Diskussion, ob wir am vielleicht sogar am Echtesten sind, wenn wir eine Rolle spielen, oder ob wir uns bei spielen darin verlieren.
