KREISE v2.0

KREISE v2.0 is an experimental, standalone digital audio workstation developed entirely browser-based and cross-platform. The underlying interface logic mirrors the architecture of a neural system, allowing users to visually construct dynamic networks of nodes and cable-like connections where signals flow from impulse generators, structural modifiers, and transformers through sound-generating nodes to effect channels and master outputs. Moving away from the machine as a static, executing tool, KREISE fosters a living environment with its own emergent behavior that the user can actively interact with and push against. The topology of these networks directly shapes the acoustic outcome, ranging from structured four-on-the-floor grooves to asynchronous, polyrhythmic, and self-transforming compositions. Powered by advanced Web Audio APIs, custom AudioWorklets, euclidean rhythm generators, and custom micro-sound drawing tools, the interface remains intentionally minimalist and constrained, opening up vast spaces for unpredictable combinations and unique sonic perspectives. Dedicated performance nodes and WebSocket-based satellite synchronization enable seamless live manipulation, bridging the gap between modular synthesis traditions, experimental interface logics, and modern performance environments. Completely open-source and free to modify, KREISE invites users to explore and expand its ecosystem directly in the browser without any plugin installation.
