OKAY AUTOMAT

The OKAY AUTOMAT is an interactive benevolence-themed vending machine that outputs personalized prophecies and truisms in form of a receipt.

The OKAY AUTOMAT is an interactive installation designed as a benevolence-themed vending machine that functions entirely through physical touch. While holding the two metal handles and pausing at the device—listening to the soundscape and observing the minimal LED lighting effects—a personalized receipt is generated and printed for the user.

Similar to a fortune cookie generator, the machine dispenses truisms, prophecies, and predictions—enriched and amplified by generative graphics, because a picture is sometimes worth a thousand words. Each output is uniquely generated, confronting the participant with a benevolent result from a decoratively adorned „black box.“ The currency paid is pure attention—and the ritual begins anew.

How the OKAY AUTOMAT Works

Touching the handles measures biometric data from the skin’s surface and the physical contact itself. This touch is processed into a profile based on skin resistance and pressure. The profile is then sent anonymously in real time to a server.

The server hosts a comprehensive database composed of narrative threads, symbols, elements, and connections drawn from the seven panels of the artwork ZEITGEIST. The biometric profile interacts with this database alongside a structured system prompt, driving a local multimodal AI model to generate both visual and text content, which is then printed directly by the machine.
