Synopsis
DIE SPULE is a mockumentary short film about a collective of women who came together in the early 1980s in the GDR to explore alternative, creative forms of expression in theater, fashion, and music outside the confines of the socialist regime. The film follows the group through their years in the GDR, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the post-reunification era—a life spent between performance, theater, friendship, and punk rock.
The focus is on the women’s unbroken creative energy, their resistance to restrictions, and their ability to make the best of things even under adverse circumstances. The narrative is based on the memories of actual eyewitnesses.

Abgesehen von einzelnen Sound- und Videoeffekten wurde das gesamte Bild- und Tonmaterial dieses Films von Tristan Schulze mithilfe generativer KI erzeugt. Dies umfasst alle gezeigten Fotografien und Filmausschnitte sowie die gesamte Musik und die gesprochenen Stimmen. Die Interviews der Figuren wurden mit Act-One und selbst eingespielten Steuerungsvideos realisiert.
Im Vorfeld wurden eigene LoRAs mit Originalfotografien und Filmmaterial aus der Vor- und Nachwendezeit in Ostdeutschland trainiert, um eine authentische Bildwelt zu schaffen.
Musik
Im Rahmen der Produktion und Recherche des Films entstanden mehrere synthetische Musikstücke die zunächst als Musikbett angedacht waren. Aus dieser Dynamik entstand ein gesamtes Punkrock Album der Band „Die Brigade“ – die im Film portraitiert wird. „Unter der Kantine.“ ist als digitale Veröffentlichung bei Hello Records erhältlich.

Die zweistündige Performance entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit Marie Ronniger direkt auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Schlachthofs, heute das Gelände des Mitteldeutschen Rundfunks, und bezieht sich auf historisches Material rund um das VEB Fleischkombinat, das dort ansaessig war. Nach der Liquidierung des Kombinats im Zuge der Wende zog der MDR auf das Gelände. Alle Inhalte der Performance wurden synthetisch erzeugt und vor Ort ausgestellt.
