„… and all of your wishes will be destroyed!“ von Marilyn Manson ist die letzte Zeile seines Songs „Man That You Fear“ aus dem Album Antichrist Superstar. Das Zitat wird oft als warnende Geschichte interpretiert, dass das Erreichen individueller Wünsche möglicherweise nicht zum Glück führt und dass der Prozess, alles zu bekommen, was du zu wollen glaubst, zum Verlust deiner ursprünglichen Träume und Ziele führen kann.
Er suggeriert, dass das Streben nach und Erreichen jedes einzelnen Wunsches ein destruktiver Prozess sein kann. Die Träume, die das Streben nach den Wünschen beflügelt haben, können verloren gehen, sobald die Wünsche erfüllt sind, da die Realität möglicherweise nicht mit der Fantasie übereinstimmt. Das Zitat wird oft als Kommentar zum Materialismus und zur Vorstellung gesehen, dass wahres Glück aus dem Inneren kommt und nicht aus äußeren Besitztümern oder Erfolg. Es kann auch als Zerstörung der eigenen Persönlichkeit oder des eigenen Lebenszwecks interpretiert werden, wie im Beispiel eines Musikers, der Ruhm erlangt und dabei die Träume verliert, die ursprünglich seine Kunst angetrieben haben oder eines Photographen, der nun durch generative Werkzeug komplexe Arbeiten erschaffen kann, die zuvor hohen finanziellen Aufwand und Erfahrung erfordert haben.
